Isy Sharman, Shotput’s new Producer
Welcome to the team, Isy Sharman!
We're delighted to announce that Isy Sharman will be joining Shotput as our new Producer.
Isy says:
"I'm so thrilled to be joining Shotput as their new producer. I've had the pleasure of working with the company previously, most recently on the fantastic production of Arlington, by Enda Walsh, last year, and I continue to be excited and inspired by the depth of their creative ambition, their generosity in and out of the rehearsal room, and the rigour that forms the foundation of Lucy and Jim's artistic vision. I'm looking forward to building on our existing relationship and being a part of shaping what comes next. I can't wait to get started."
We'd also like to take this opportunity to bid a very warm farewell to our current Producer, Alison Thomas. Although Alison has only been on board since earlier this year, she has helped hugely to set some exciting projects in motion. Alison leaves us to take up the position of Senior Producer at Scottish Dance Theatre.

"I’ve had a fantastic time with Shotput. Working in a small dynamic company like this is incredibly energising, and I’ve particularly enjoyed contributing to longterm strategic thinking and connecting with the theatre sector more deeply. Together we’ve been laying the groundwork for exciting future projects and I’m excited to watch them come to fruition, and continue to support Shotput’s work from the outside. I look forward to remaining close sector colleagues with the team."

Isy is a producer working in theatre and dance. She's drawn to live performance that finds new physical and sensory languages, taking risks with form to examine the truth of contemporary life. Having previously supported productions to tour across the world, Isy is excited by the opportunities that come with international exchange and is committed to finding new ways for Scottish work to sit in dialogue with the international artistic community. Above all, Isy sees producing as a relationship, and loves to work closely with artists to support ambitious, formally inventive performance for audiences at home and further afield.
